Our Story
What is the story behind The Straightest Flag Co.?
The founder lived in NYC — a conservative in the very heart of liberalism. Living in a 54-floor building, the building administrators would invite drag performers to come to the kids play area on the third floor and read books to kids, and posters around the building would promote the event.
One day the young family carried the stroller up the flights of stairs as they exited the subway with their toddler and were surprised to find themselves in the middle of a large pride event with thousands of people flaunting things that no child should see. The founder reached down to cover his daughter’s eyes as they walked through the crowd to get to where they needed to be.
When his family moved across the country to a new village one thousandth the size of NYC, they found the Main Street lined with pride flags. The local high school’s main locker hallway displayed a street sign that read “Pride Street,” and pride flags flew from school flagpoles throughout the month of June. The school board and administration was packed with advocates of the unnatural use of the bodies God gave to humans.
Adults from the local LGBTQ club pressured and persuaded the town’s schoolchildren. Drag shows began arriving in the town, with organizers even attempting to schedule “all ages” performances on Sunday afternoons to draw in children. Kids were being influenced and even pressured toward experimentation and lifestyles that would ultimately leave them wounded for life — drawn away from the good path God laid out for them.
As a matter of conviction, the founder couldn’t stand by and watch. It isn’t right to sit quietly in one’s place while wicked adults turn children into victims.
So he made a flag.
The flag speaks a simple language and reminds us that God created a good and beautiful plan for human sexuality, and His plan brings about the gift of life. The flag’s design is simple — XY and XX with a bright red heart in the middle — declares that God made man and woman for each other.
This beautiful flag is a bold “NO” to a cultural movement that seeks to break what the Creator has made whole. We’re proud of this. We’re proud of love, life, and the beauty of God’s created design. We raise The Straightest Flag high.
